Equipment

  • 52 Card Deck
  • A drink each
  • A table

Setup

Gather all players into a circle with their drinks filled and deal cards out evenly between everyone face down. Cards must remain face down at all times.

Aim of the Game

Drink as a group by playing your cards and forming connections by matching with other players around the circle.

How to Play

1 by 1 moving clockwise around the circle, each player flips over and reveals their top card to the group. Depending on the card, this may create or continue a chain by matching with the previous player’s card.

Conductors:
Matching suits
Matching card values
Number 8

Example play:
Player 1 - Ace♤
Player 2 - 4♤ (matching suit)
Player 3 - 4♧ (matching number)
Player 4 - J♡ (no match, chain ends)

The moment a match happens, the chain is created and everyone in the chain starts drinking immediately and continuously. Cards continue to be flipped by the following players in quick succession. The same rules apply, if you match then you join the chain and drink. Drinks aren’t be dropped until the chain is broken.

The game continues in a circle as fast as you want, creating and breaking chains. This ends when there are no cards left to flip and can be played again.

Rules

  • If you’re in an active chain, you should be continuously drinking.
  • No peeking at your cards, blind flips only.
  • No delayed card flips, 3 forfeit sips if caught.
  • No pretend drinking, finish drink if caught.
  • The number 8 will always bridge a connection whether it matches or not.

Special Edition

Breaker

Instead of players drinking when they make a connection, the player who kills the connection must drink the amount of sips that is on their card. Face cards are equal to 10. This slows drinking down between the group but ends up making less people drink more.
