Best Summer Drinking Ideas

2022-10-01

Some drinking ideas to make summer sessions a bit different.

Be that person at your next social by using one of our summer drinking ideas to freshen up events with new ideas, forcing people to raise their own pathetic standards.

Not all of these will work for the type of summer party you have, but they might give inspiration if nothing else.

Quote of the day:

The more I drink, the less there is for the kids to drink.

Cocktail Dispensers

Get a few comically large 10L dispensers and churn out some summer cocktails using your own creativity or, follow some of our cocktail recipes.

You’ll need an absurd amount of liquid to fill these tanks, so make sure to bulk buy cheap booze and then add a few slices of fresh fruit to make the mess look a bit more inviting.

Label the drinks so everyone knows what they’re having or keep them unlabelled for a bit of mystery.

Outdoor Games

Take a look at the list of outdoor games on the page, perfect for summer days when you physically cannot be indoors.

Take your pick from active sports games or chilled low effort ones like Beer Darts which lets you sit in the sun while slowly dehydrating. You’ll need some equipment, but these games can be taken anywhere you plan to pass out: beach, park, or a miserable patio.

The active nature of these outdoor games will supposedly burn off more calories than regular card games, giving the perfect guilt-free excuse to aggressively consume those tasty cans.

Floating Drinks Cooler

For those lucky to have a pool, floating drink coolers are a great way to keep the drinks flowing.

You can buy a specialty product designed for this level of luxury, or, if you’re feeling thrifty, re-engineer your regular cooler into a floating variant using pool noodles and cable ties. Fill it with ice to keep your cans cool, or turn it into a floating punch bowl.

There are also floating beer pong tables and floating ring toss out there as well.

Beer Run

Amore creative activity where you build a pointless maze for your drink. Sort of like a marble run, but instead of marbles, it transports cheap, lukewarm alcohol down a series of makeshift channels toward a finish line where some thirsty bastard awaits.

This creative method of drinking suits outdoor sessions since the ‘run’ can be built out of anything (foil, old hotwheels track, gutter pipe, etc.) and launched from anywhere (out the kitchen window, up a tree, down the garden).

If you lack the basic engineering skills for a proper run, another idea would be to use a simple slide to transport a can of beer from point A to B.

Drunk Sports Day

An active series of games that involves day drinking and a lot of energy, likely not getting to the end of the games to decide who’s won.

Its perfect for a summer drinking session, which involves everyone and getting you outside. Spectators can also have fun with this one.

Wearable Drinks Containers

No matter how convenient something is, nothing can beat the convenience of drinking a beer with no hands.

Both beer helmets and chest pouches can offer you the freedom of movement wherever you are on your day of summer.

Some examples below:

Lucky dip

Create a breif bit of excitement by blindly picking a drink from a lucky dip, pure chance determines what colour your puke is.

Find an old, dusty container and stuff it full of all the different booze you can find to maximise the range. Use pre-sealed drinks, or bottle up your own concoctions from the back of the fridge crap.

If you suspect your guests might be cheats and start feeling too much for the container they want, use small pieces of paper to write the names of the different drinks.

Thats all! Use the share buttons below or save the page for later in your bookmarks.
