DIY Drunkopoly
A creative activity for those rainy days, this custom-made drinking boardgame is a great alternate way of drinking.
Requirements
- Cardboard
- Paper
- Glue/Stapler
- Coloured Pens
- Scissors
- Counters
- Dice
- Clear tape
How to Play
To begin, make a rough plan of how you want your boardgame to look like (sketch, features, rules, objectives).
You can include drinking tasks like shots, sips, as well as dares, forfeits and challenges.
Examples:
- Use a start and finish format with simple blocks that have tasks on such as shots, dares or truths.
- Make a circuit, similar to monopoly where you earn rewards when you pass ‘GO’ and pick up cards with tasks.
- Build a level-based boardgame, requiring players to progress through each level of the game by completing tasks to get to the finish.
Cut your game board out of cardboard and cover the top in paper, stapling or gluing it down. Draw the gameboard and maybe add some colour to make it pop before taping over the top of it with clear tape so it doesn’t get damaged.
Make sure you have all accessories needed for the game (dice, counters, pen, paper and drink), then you’re good to go.
Top Tips
- Make your rules varied so the game can be played multiple times without being boring.
- Create shortcuts in your boardgame paths.
- Think of other boardgames and how they work for more inspiration.
