Ingredients
- Coffee liqueur - 25ml
- Vodka - 25ml
- Espresso coffee - 25ml
- Ice - 1 handful
- Simple syrup (demerara) - 15ml
Recipe
- Mix equal parts caster sugar and boiling water in a pan, stir and bring to the boil.
- Turn the heat off and let the mixture cool.
- Add a handful of ice, 1 part vodka, 1 part coffee liqueur, 1 part espresso coffee and a teaspoon of cooled sugar syrup to a cocktail shaker.
- Shake until the outside of the cocktail shaker feels icy cold.
- Pour evenly into the chilled glasses and garnish with coffee beans.
Tips
- Place glasses in the fridge before preparing the drink.
- When adding all of the ingredients in the shaker, pour the coffee in last to reduce the ice from melting as quickly.
- Replace espresso coffee with cream to create a white russian.
